Evelyn Burton was born on December 24, 1924 to James and Leona Bush in Saluda, South Carolina.

Evelyn attended school in Saluda, South Carolina, after finishing school she moved to Washington D.C .and thereafter to Patterson, New Jersey where she met and married Eugene Burton.

Evelyn moved back to Washington D.C. to be with her family and worked for Goodwill Industries, were she retired.  After retiring Evelyn moved to Charlotte, North Carolina to be with her sister Clarissa McClure. Then soon became a dedicated members of Macedonia Baptist Church, where she regularly attended until her home going.

Evelyn departed this earthly life at the age of 91 on Wednesday December 21, 2016.  Evelyn is survived by her sister Clarissa McClure of Charlotte, North Carolina and two children James Bush of Washington, D.C. and Sandra Moore of Alexandria, Virginia; Grandkids Chantay Moore of Accokeek, Maryland, Shaun Moore of Alexandria, Virginia and Torrea (husband Robert) Breckenridge of Dumfries, Virginia; Great grandkids, Asia (husband Ronnie) McFadden, Naya (husband August) Powell, Taylar Breckenridge and Robert Breckenridge II; four Great- great grandkids, Demari Moore, Saryah Hamilton, Aiden Moore and August Powell II and beloved nieces Mary Fair and Ada Bush & nephews Jimmie Lee Bush of Saluda, South Carolina and Ernest Mason of Washington, D.C. and a host of loving relatives and beloved friends.

Evelyn was proceeded in death by her parents James and Leona Bush; daughter Loretta Burton; siblings John Lee Bush, Anna May Bush Lott and Luella Hill Gantt.

Funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Macedonia Baptist Church, Lucia.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
