Fame Cordaye Clay , who loved the Lord, her family and church, departed this life and went to be with her maker on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Atrium Main Hospital. She was born in Grier, S.C., on September 19, 1957 to the late Walter Clay and Annette Jackson Clay. She grew up in Anderson, S.C., graduated from T L Hanna High School where she learned to love music instruments and singing in the school choirs. And she can "Sang". She continued her pursuit in music and singing at Johnson C. Smith University where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree. She loved traveling with the JCSU choirs and her music professors Dr. Kemp and Dr. Mrs. Walker were very instrumental in her life after graduation (Fame has stayed in contact with Dr. Mrs. Walker up to date, even baby sat her 2 sons back in the day).

Fame played several years as Music Director at various churches in Charlotte, N.C. After a variety of jobs, she retired in 2019.

Her memory will be cherished always by her loving twin sister Lane Clay Sayles (Terry); brother, Pom A. Clay (Denise) of Anderson, S.C. Nieces - Cheretta Sayles Dillingham, Lenora Sayles Holden (Chris) and Nephews, Trey Sayles (Sabmantha), all of Charlotte, N.C. and Jimarcus Alexander of Anderson, S.C.; Great Nephews; Zavien, Zathan, Kario, Cruze and Great Niece Zoey, all of Charlotte, N.C.

Fame was preceded in death by sister Velvet Clay of Charleston, S.C.
