Obituary

Mrs. Fannie "Alfreda" Kendall Brown completed her earthly journey and was called to eternal rest Sunday April 19, 2020.

Born April 23, 1935, in the township of Cottonville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Crump Kendall, Sr. and Elsie Smith Kendall.

We give thanks to Our Lord and Savior for blessing our family with the opportunity to love and cherish her life.

"Alfreda," as she was affectionately called, was educated in the Stanley County Public Schools and a graduate of Kingsville High School. Alfreda received her nursing degree and was a registered nurse at Charlotte Memorial Hospital (Atrium Health) for over 20 years.

She accepted Christ at a very young age. She was a faithful member of Progressive Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ Inc. Charlotte, NC under Bishop Lang Priester until her health began to decline. She loved her God, her family and friends. She always extended nurturing and compassionate acts of love shown in the smallest token throughout her life.

Memories of Alfreda will be cherished by her husband of 61 years, Willie C. Brown Jr., who referred often to her by the pet name "Da" short for Darling, her children, Victor Jerome Brown Sr. (Cynthia) of Columbia, SC, Tonya Brown Rivers (Mitchell) of Charlotte NC, and Anthony Claude Brown of Charlotte NC, grandsons, Victor Jerome Brown Jr., Xavier Brown of Columbia SC, Kendall David Rivers, Cameron O'Hara Rivers of Charlotte NC, great grandchildren, Jayden Brown, Nicholas Brown of Sumter SC, sister, Elisa Claudine Kendall Roach of Albemarle NC, brother, Clay T. Kendal of Albemarle NC, special niece Olivia Butler (Wilbur) of Albemarle NC, life long best friends, Mrs. Stella Jones of Charlotte NC, Mrs. Gloria Franks (Israel) of Charlotte NC and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Mabel Hargrove, Macie Richardson, Sally E. Sellers, Julia Adams, Genovia McKenzie, Anne Retha Kendall Morgan "Annie", Jasper Kendall, Cletus Robert Kendall and Crump Kendall Jr.

The family would like to extend a special recognition and thanks to the medical staff, social workers, and home health agency for their dutiful and compassionate care of our beloved Alfreda.

"Take your eternal rest "Alfreda", May flights of Angels sing thee to thy rest!"
