Mrs. Fleta Martin Alexander, 93, of Charlotte, NC departed this life on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Lakeside Health Huntersville.

Fleta Martin Alexander, daughter of the late Thomas Martin and Dorsey Dawkins-Martin, was born on November 14, 1929, in Montgomery County, North Carolina.  She passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Lakeside Health and Rehab Center in Huntersville, NC.  She was 93.

"Aunt Fleta," as she was affectionately called by her nieces and nephews, was a proud member of the Charlotte community for many years.  In her early years, she joined Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Church located on East 7th Street.  She was a dedicated business office accountant for the historic Johnson C. Smith University for 27 years.  She was also a member of various social groups and enjoyed traveling.

Her heart and her love of family was always Aunt Fleta's main focus.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Darryl Gordon Alexander and his father, John W. Alexander.  Her cherished brothers and sisters, Roger, Fester, Ralph, Leroy, Iola, Christine, Dorsey and Mildred also preceded her in death.

Left to cherish and honor many memories are her sister-in-law, Victoria Martin of Norman, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
