Frances Delores Gainey Wilson, 77 of Winston-Salem, NC, went home to glory at 9:00 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022 at her home.   She was the cornerstone of her life.  She was a humble, sweet, God-fearing woman, the backbone of her family.  Her ingenuity, love for family, and love for Christ is what held her family together.

Frances was born August 1, 1944 in Lynchburg, SC, daughter of the late Reverend William Edward Gainey and Lillie Mae Gainey.

Frances was the third oldest child and the second oldest girl.  With that order, she quickly became like a second mother to her younger siblings.

She earned an Associates Degree in Secretarial Science from Wilson Technical Community College in Wilson, NC and was the President of the Bassett Elementary Parent Teacher Association in Rocky Mount, NC for 10 years.  She also worked as a part time secretary for her husband.  Before retiring, she was the head cashier in the Pharmacy Department at Walmart for over 10 years.

Frances loved God first.  She was a devout member of the AME Zion Church for decades.  She was a blessing and an encourager to all who knew her.  She had a quiet demeanor, but when she did speak, she usually stated something that was immensely profound.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Douglas Wilson; three brothers, William Edward Gainey, Jr., Pastor John C. Gainey, Carl E. Gainey; and her sister, Gladys Ozetta Gainey Toney.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Laydee Felana Wilson Milbourne (Andre); her son, Frederick Dolphus Wilson (Nicole), her daughter/granddaughter, Juanita Alana Milbourne; THE LIGHT OF HER LIFE, her grandchildren, Trevion Fogg (Ashley), Taurus Fogg, Tanden Wilson, Trinity Wilson; her great-grandchildren, Jada Mays, Preston Milbourne, Isabella Milbourne, Journey Milbourne-Wright, Kyson Fogg and Kaiser Fogg; her beloved siblings, Joan Bull, Ruby Bishop (Charley), Barbara McDaniel, Cynthia Brown (Maxi Lee), Elder Shirley Williames (Roosevelt), Debra Graham, and Lydia Bruce (Jimmy); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
