Obituary

Frank Allie Shaw Funderburk, 57 of Charlotte, passed away on Sunday February 17, 2019 at his residence. He was the son of Frank Funderburk and Betty Luticia (Moore) Funderburk was born August 30, 1961, and shared his young years with his two brothers, two sisters, and six cousins. He attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools then later followed his dream of self-employment after pursuing several other job opportunities.  He established a mobile auto detailing business with his best friend Hubert which allowed them the opportunity to develop great lasting friendships among the people they serviced.  Detailing cars was Frank's passion and he showed that enjoyment through his laughter, singing and whistling while he worked.  His whistling was like his signature because you can always hear it when he was nearby and we all know he's now walking around in heaven enchanting many with the sounds of his whistle.

His laughter was so contagious that family and friends gravitated to him to talk and laugh about the past, our childhood days and funny circumstances we all seem to find ourselves in.  He had a love for the outside and found fishing a relaxing and fun thing to do.  There were many mornings when the lakes and rivers were calm, he would be out on the river banks tossing his reels into the water.  His main love was the motorcycle and he enjoyed everything about it from the ride to the repairs. We could hear the excitement in his voice each time he rode a bike, purchased a new part for it or the time spent with family and friends that rode with him.

He entered the union of marriage with Sheila (Huey) Funderburk which was the love of his life.  He loved her since his teen years and even though they didn't marry at the start of their adult years...they found each other later in life.  Sheila is his soulmate and he made sure everyone around him knew the inseparable bond they shared in life, the love they had for each other and happiness they shared.

Frank is survived by his wife, Sheila (Huey) Funderburk and their family of six children--Shequea Rice, Brandon Funderburk, Darius Clark, Alexis Clark (Ahmad Cunningham), Marcus (Krystal) Coleman and Ronald Coleman.

Grandchildren--Shy'yonna, Nay'sha, A'layah, Amarion, Amir, Azario, Arayia, Kaylan, and Niya.
