Gale Arsenia
Boulware
April 3, 2026
Gale Arsenia Boulware, 74, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Atrium Health University City Hospital in Charlotte, NC.
Gale Arsenia Hill, daughter of the late Castelle Hill and Ruth Eloise Raley Young, was born January 7, 1952, in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was the oldest of eight children and grew up surrounded by a large family who helped shape her into the woman we loved dearly.
Gale accepted Christ at an early age and served the Lord faithfully throughout her life. She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church before joining St. Paul Community Missionary Baptist Church where she was loved by those who knew her.
Gale received her early education in the Mecklenburg County School System. She later attended Olympic High School and continued her studies at Central Piedmont Community College. She worked many years at Pharr Yarns, Inc. In later years, she served as secretary of Gethsemane Baptist Church, a role in which she combined her administrative skills with her love for the church and community.
A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Gale treasured time spent with her family. She especially loved being with her grandchildren, sharing stories, laughter and gentle guidance. Her home was a place where family and friends gathered, and she delighted in simple pleasures, a good conversation and celebrating life milestones with those she loved.
Gale was preceded in death by her partner, Ronald Weeks; sister, Terri; and grandsons, Shay Brown and Isaiah Miller. She is survived by four daughters, Pasonda Hill, Stephanie Bigelow, Pecolia Barringer (Joseph), and Nicole Miller; three brothers, Frank Young, Jr. (Robin), Marty Young (Carolina) and Jeffrey Young (Tami); three sisters, Adrienne Stratford, Sabra Young, Trina Young; and a special sister, Barbara Fewell; sixteen grandchildren; forty-eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. She also will be missed by a very close friend, Betty Cherry.
Gale will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her and her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and community.
