Mr. Gary Phillip Klutz, 67 of Charlotte, NC returned to eternity on Tuesday, July 27, 2021. He was born September 9, 1953. He was preceded in death by his father, Phillip Barringer; uncle, Glenn Barringer; and lifelong partner, Shirley McDowell.

Gary was educated in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System. He was employed at Adams Heating & Air Conditioning.

Affectionately called "Clutchy Boy" by family and friends, he was very humble and family oriented. He enjoyed listening to music, watching westerns, fishing and dancing. He believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Juanita Barringer; brothers, Johnny Barringer of Charlotte, NC and Terry Barringer (Barbara) of New Port News, Virginia; three sisters, Stephanie Cureton (Michael) of Charlotte, NC, Rita Graham and Twanda Suggs (Will), both of Kannapolis, NC; five aunts, Martha Barringer, Grace Caldwell (Levon) and Maxine Barringer, all of Charlotte, NC, Francis Klutz and Ada Hardin, both of Kannapolis, NC; one uncle, Leonard Barringer of Charlotte, NC; four children, Teresa McDowell, Randy McDowell, James McDowell and Carla Elmore, all of Charlotte, NC; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; six nieces, three nephews; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews; and best friend, Bob McArthur.
