Mr. George Cunningham, 74 of Charlotte, entered into his eternal rest on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Novant Health Presbyterian.  He was born January 6, 1947, to George Maxwell and Hannah Cunningham in Charlotte, NC.

Mr. Cunningham grew up in Charlotte and attended school in Southern Mecklenburg County graduating in the final class of the then All Black Sterling School in 1965.

Mr. Cunningham was drafted into the US Army in 1967, and served his country until he was honorably discharged in 1973.  Upon returning home, he gained employment as a truck driver, which he continued until his retirement in 2007.

Mr. Cunningham met and married the love of his life Lillie Young Cunningham on September 2, 1967.  From this union came two son, Timothy Cunningham and Anthony Cunningham, the latter preceded him in death.

Mr. Cunningham leaves to mourn his memory his Wife, Lillie Young Cunningham; Son, Timothy Cunningham, two Grandchildren, Treshaun Cunningham and Kortney Bethea; two Great Grandsons, Logan Cunningham and Micah Beathea; his Mother, Hannah C. Carson; three Brothers, Thomas (Virginia) Cunningham, David Cunningham, Larry Cunningham; two Sisters, LaFran (Earl) Archibald and Nicole (Guy) Robinson.  Five additional Sisters-in-Laws and three Brother-in-Laws; Two Aunts, Joyce Anderson and Uleen (Lawrence), Jordan; one Uncle, Earl (Pecola) Maxwell, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
