Mr. George Wallace Gaffney, Jr. passed on June 9, 2015 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Sharon Memorial Park. Mr. Gaffney was formerly married to Marilyn F. Gaffney who passed on September 5,2001. He was a retired school teacher (Carmel JHS, East Mecklenburg and several New York schools before that. He is survived by: his children, Valerie Thomas and George D. Gaffney; his grandchildren, Angela-Faith Thomas and Desmond Thomas, III; his sisters, Goldie Benjamin and Catherine "Sister" Dozier; his brothers, William and Robert Gaffney and many other loved ones."A man with a passion for writing and film. He was loved by many.
