George Jant was born on September 19, 1941 in Pineville, NC to the late John Jant and Glendora Leaks Jant. He departed this life on November 29, 2023.

He leaves behind a sister, Rosa Edwards of Charlotte, NC along with a host of family members that truly loved, respected, and will cherish his memory forever. Those who knew him would say he was a no nonsense person that would give it to you "straight no chaser". He loved life and lived it to the fullest. Although he loved his children and grandchildren, his great-grandchildren were his heart. He would speak of them endlessly and it would bring him joy to see and spend time with them.

In his early years, he worked for the family cleaning business with his brothers and nephews. He later went to work for Rea Brothers Plumbing until his retirement. In his retirement, he found joy in the simple things like having his coffee and watching his western movies daily.
