Mr. George Pendergrass, 83 of Charlotte, NC departed this life on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Levine Dickson Hospice House Southminster.

George Pendergrass, a beloved father, grandfather, and cherished friend, peacefully passed away on May 7, 2023, at the age if 83.  George displayed immense strength, resilience, and determination throughout his seven-year battle with health complications.  Despite the challenges he faced, George lived his life with incredible courage and grace.

Born on August 21, 1939, George was a man of unwavering principles and unyielding love.  He grew up in a close-knit community, surrounded by the support of his family and friends.  These early experiences instilled in him the values of kindness, compassion, and hard work, which he carried throughout his life.

George's greatest source of pride and joy was his family.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Viola McCluney Pendergrass and father, Richard Alexander Pendergrass.  He leaves behind a lasting legacy through his four children, Reggie Pendergrass, Zemmie (Marian) Pendergrass, George Pendergrass, Jr. and Julius Pendergrass; his brother, Roger Pendergrass; and two sisters, Sallie Gaines and Theodora Davidson; and a host of nieces and nephews, and special friend, Ellen Grier.  His profound impact on their lives will forever be cherished and remembered.

George Pendergrass will be remembered as a kind-hearted soul with an infectious smile and a gentle spirit.  His generosity, wisdom, and unwavering support touched the lives of all who knew him.  His memory will forever be cherished, and his legacy of love and resilience will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

While we mourn the loss of George's physical presence, let us take solace in the memories we shared with him and the profound impact he had on our lives.  May his spirit guide us in times of difficulty and remind us of the enduring power of love and courage.  Rest in peace, Dear George, knowing that your legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved you.
