Mr. George Kelly Works Sr., (Louie), 83 of Charlotte passed away on Wednesday March 18, 2020. Private burial will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens.

He was born on October 27, 1936 to late Carl and Annie Reid Works. He graduated from Torrence Lytle High School in Huntersville, NC.

He worked for Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) for more than 40 years.  George was married to the late Georgia M. Harrison for 36 years.

Their union was blessed with four children: George K. Works Jr. (Kristin), Allan C. Works (Devonne), Dianne Works and Lisa Works Browning all of Charlotte, NC.

He is survived by two sisters, Ophelia Houston and Karol Matthews both of Charlotte, NC.  Five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, one brother-in-law; David Harrison, three sister-in-laws; Geneva Leazer (Johnny), Lovella Aery, Emma Little and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.

George began his spiritual journey at a very early age at Torrence Chapel AME Zion Church, where he served as a Steward Board Member.

He is known as a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather.  He was kind, very loving, easy going, calm, sweet, a great family man, and a fun-loving man.  George never met a stranger, everyone that met him, loved him.

George is preceded in death by his wife Georgia; parents, Carl and Annie Works, sisters; Emily Works Kornegay, Cassie Works Banks, brothers; Carl Works, William Works and Danny Works.
