Mr. Georgeson Esler Maligi, 61 of Dallas, TX, passed away on Wednesday April 10, 2019 at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Dallas, TX. He was born on September 23, 1957.
As the son of the late George Esler Maligi and Maria Etta Tucker Maligi, he was born in Lunsar, Sierra Leone, but shortly after moved to Mattru Jong, Bonthe District, to his Aunt Lucretia, where he spent his youth, and was known as "Justin." Later as a teen, he relocated to Bo Town, Sierra Leone, where his mother told him his name was "Georgeson," as it was written in the family bible. He attended Saint Andrews Secondary School. In 1982, as a young adult, he traveled to the United State of America and settled in Charlotte, North Carolina to attend college, where he met his wife, Donita. They married in May of 1983 and later had three children. During Georgeson's employment with Amierican Airlines, the family relocated to Dallas, Tx in 1998. He worked for American Airlines for 24 years prior to retiring early due to illness. He was a member of the Dallas Tegloma Chapter, OSASA Texas Chapter, and served tirelessly as a Deacon at The Potter's House of Dallas.
Preceding him in death: father, mother, one brother, Sam Maligi; three sisters, Georgianna Maligi Koroma, Georgette Maligi, and Juliana Maligi Kpakiwa. He leaves behind his wife, Donita Maxwell Maligi; one son, Ulric Maligi (Courtney); two daughters, Lucretia Maligi and Genita Maligi; one granddaughter, Alani Johnson; two sisters, Julliet Kemokai (Mohammed) and Alice Camara of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Jannet Pessima (Abdul) of Denver, Colorado; one sister-in-law, Dentuma Maligi of Sierra Leone; and a host of other relatives including these families, Tucker, Bah, Koroma, Camara, Maxwell, Kemokai, Pessima, Williams, Jusu, Parker, Ndomahina, Sheriff, Coker, Caulker, Jones, Kandeh, Bio, Conteh, Sesay and Davis.
