Ms. Geraldine Blackman-Mackey, 96 of Charlotte, departed this life on Sunday, October 23, 2022.  She was the daughter of Willie Blackmon and Laura Bogen was born October 1, 1926 in Richmond County North Carolina (Hamlet) on a farm.  She lived with her grandmother until she moved to Charlotte, NC as a teenager.

She attended West Charlotte High School.  She later met and married the late, George L. Mackey.  To that union 10 children were born; Lawrence of New York City, JoyceAne (deceased), Carolyn of Charlotte, NC, Ardelia (deceased), Eugene of Charlotte, NC, Eric of Georgia, Ronald (deceased), Sylvania (deceased), Earl (deceased), and Michael (deceased).
She relocated to New York City where she attended Queens Nursing Center and received her GED and CNA License.  She was always kind and giving and especially loved by all.
In addition to her 4 children, she leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
