Mrs. Geraldine Scott Hunter, 86, of Charlotte, NC, was born October 24, 1938, to the late Ernest R Scott and Lucy Campbell Scott. She was the fifth of twelve children. Geraldine grew up in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Charlotte, on Short Street. In her formative years, she attended and graduated from the Second Ward High School.
Geraldine was a true servant, worshiper and lover of the Lord Jesus Christ. Geraldine had a love for Quartet Music and it was very evident, because she would not change her radio dial from WGIV. Geraldine was also a founding member of Shekinah Ministries. She served the Lord's church faithfully as a Deaconess and Sunday School teacher.
Geraldine was known and appreciated for her baking skills which she inherited from her mother, Lucy Scott. Geraldine was sought out for her pound cakes, strawberry shortcakes, 7-Up cakes and various pies, just to name a few. Geraldine inherited her work ethic from her father, Ernest Scott. She did not eat the bread of idleness, but worked numerous jobs, including 16 years at Memorial Hospital, and 19 years at National Metal.
Geraldine loved people and had a heart to serve, which she did well. She provided high quality care for Mrs. Willie May Johnston for 12 years and Debbie and Ted Todd for many years.
Geraldine was preceded in death by husbands, Edward Hudson, Sr., and Willie James Hunter. She was preceded in death by sisters, Vanessa Scott, Rosetta Johnson, Julia Robinson, and Elizabeth Matutu. She was preceded in death by brothers, Ernest Jr., James Arthur, and Rev. Al Wright.
