Gladys Patterson, 68 years old, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away at Atrium Health Mercy on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. Gladys was  born in Charlotte, North Carolina on October 21, 1954 to Ida Bell (King) and Robert Howard Johnson. Gladys attended West Charlotte Senior High School and graduated from Stephens County High School in Toccoa, Georgia.

Gladys' life partner was Anthony Lucas. Together they shared many moments. Gladys worked for and retired from the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system. Gladys always enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also liked to travel, listen to music, watch TV, and in her day, she loved to dance.

Gladys leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Pearlie Mae Johnson and Ida Mae Johnson Cathcart (James), and five brothers, Artis Johnson (Gwen), William H. Johnson (Bobbie), Samuel L. Johnson (Sammy Lee), Thomas J. Johnson (Doris), and Eugene Johnson.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Ida Bell (King) Johnson and Robert Howard Johnson.
