Glenn Edward Chislom, 74 of Gastonia, his soul departed to its eternal home on November 19, 2021 at Caromont Health, Gastonia.  He was born July 19, 1947 in Chattanooga, TN to parents, John Willie Chislom, Jr., and Irene H. Brinkley Chislom.  His final days were spent serving his neighbors and friends as he shared his every resource in whatever way he could throughout his very memorable life.

He dedicated his life to Christ as a teenager and was a member of Avondale Church of Christ in Chattanooga, TN.  He later became a member of Sugar Creek Church of Christ in Charlotte, NC where he served as a member of the Chorus, sometimes headed the Communion table, and occasionally led songs in Worship.

Glenn possessed many talents: record-breaking high school track and field star and accomplished percussionist at Booker T. Washington High School, natural-born whistler, bass vocalist, self-taught accordion and piano player, and solider (veteran of the US Army Infantry where he served as an Advanced Radio Operator in Vietnam, whose experiences were published in the book, "Walking in Another Man's World" written by his mother, Irene Chislom Solomon).  Perhaps his two most memorable talents were Storyteller extraordinaire and the world's most talented Mechanic.  He spoke often about his cats, Tiger and Milkshake; his moped, and enjoyed music and eating candy and pecans.

Glenn loved his family and friends and is survived by sons (Glenn Jr., and Travis) and siblings: Sandra Hudley ( James and niece Sheerah Davis), Debrah Chislom Leslie (nieces Colette, Rose, Torie, and Laquita), David Chislom (Sandy and nephew Jason) Johnnie Chislom; Step-Sisters: Rachel McIntyre and Andrina; Step-Brothers: James Solomon, Jr; "Adopted siblings" Jamie, Renee and Sam; Special Friends: Doretha, Cathy, Gloria, and Anthony; Many great-nieces, nephews, grandchildren, faithful friends, and COC members.  Glenn has one surviving uncle and aunt, Eddie Brinkley Sr., (Jean and cousins, Eddie Jr., Greg, Antonio Tonya).
