Mr. Graylin Trevette Hairston, 69 of Charlotte, passed away on Thursday May 21, 2020 at Levine & Dickson- Huntersville.  He was born on November 20, 1950 in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late William Hairston and Quentine Jones Hairston.

Graylin graduated from West Charlotte High School in 1968 and attended Shaw University in Raleigh, NC.

Graylin was devoted to his work as a licensed electrician for Frye Electric Company for many years.  He later decided to become self-employed and use his trade to help his community.

Graylin, also known as "Papa-Do" really enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Blackwell; his son, Lamont Hairston and grandson, Shantoine Blackwell.

Graylin leaves to cherish his memories a lifelong companion, Ms. Judy Agan; children, four daughters, Angela Dixion (Rodney), Alondria McCoy (David), Dia Harris (Keith), Mary Blackwell and three sons, Gregory Hairston, Tracey Blackwell and Darren Blackwell; 18 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.
