Mr. Harry LeGrand Jr, 88 of Charlotte, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 15, 2021 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster. Gone from us, but forever in our hearts.
"Bob" as he was fondly known was born August 1, 1932 in Montgomery County, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Harry LeGrand, Sr. and Bertha Wall LeGrand. He was preceded in death by brothers Nathaniel LeGrand, William LeGrand, Wylie LeGrand, Elwood LeGrand and Donald LeGrand and sisters, Nannie LeGrand and Sarah Woodard.
He was educated in the Montgomery County Schools and was a long time employee and supervisor at NYP Corporation in Elizabeth, New Jersey, where he retired at the age of 55.
Bob left Mount Gilead, North Carolina in the late 1960's and moved to Newark, New Jersey. He moved back to North Carolina in 2012 once his health declined.
He loved racing and children. Bob was the "cool" uncle whom we all loved.
Always precious in our hearts, "Bob" will be remembered with love by his three sisters, Annette Stanback, Maxine Burley and Anna LeGrand, all of Charlotte, North Carolina and one brother, Benjamin LeGrand (Peggy) of Charlotte, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Deborah LeGrand of N. Brunswick, NJ; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
