Mrs. Hattie Lucille Neal Stewart, 97 of Charlotte, departed this life on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Atrium Health-Pineville. She was the daughter of the late Alonzo and Ellie Weathers Neal, and was born October 28, 1922 in Pineville, North Carolina.  She was married to the late John Henry Stewart.

Lucille was a faithful member of McClintock Presbyterian Church.  There she served as elder for several years and was a devoted Sunday School Teacher and because of her love for children, she taught primary and intermediate aged children.  She enjoyed working in her yard planting beautiful flowers and tending to her vegetable garden.  She was also a member of her Neighborhood Garden Club.

Lucille studied and received her GED from Mecklenburg County Schools.  She retired from the former NCNB (now Bank of America) after 33 years as Supervisor of The Executive Dining Room under the leadership of Hugh McCall.

Those left to cherish her memories are one brother, John T. Neal Sr. and five sisters, Mrs. Sadie Weathers, Mrs. Margaret Johnson, Mrs. Mary Lou Harris, Mrs. Catherine Tyson and Mrs. Nancy Neely (Phillip), all of Charlotte; a special niece; Rita Stewart of Atlanta, GA; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
