Mrs. Henrietta "Yvonne" Smith (70), daughter of the late James Brown and Mary Edna Henry Brown was born on December 28, 1952, in Wilmington, North Carolina. She departed this earthly life on June 7, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones, at Levine and Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, North Carolina.

Yvonne Smith was an intelligent and outgoing student, educated in the New Hanover County School System and graduated from Hoggard High School in 1971. She received Christ as her personal Savior at an early age while attending church with her mother. Yvonne spent the majority of her career in Phoenix, Arizona working as a Accounts Receivable/Payable Supervisor for large corporations such as Godaddy.com. She eventually relocated to Charlotte, NC to be closer to her children, family, and friends.

Vonn, was a bright, down-to-earth, hospitable, and fun-loving lady with a zest for life. She was an avid party planner who enjoyed celebrating with her friends and family. She was always the life of the party! She inherited the Henry family trait of great cooking and was known for her delicious savory collard greens, macaroni and cheese, stuffing, shrimp and rice, and crab cakes. Yvonne was a devoted, loving, and proud mother of her son Devin, a licensed Professional Engineer in North Carolina, and her daughter Valerie, owner of Provisions Esthetics LLC / Licensed Cosmetology and Esthetics Instructor.

In addition to her parents, Yvonne was preceded in death by her sister Barbara Nailor. She is survived by her son Devin Smith (Denise) of Knightdale, NC; daughter Valerie Smith of Charlotte, NC; brother Frederick Eugene Baldwin (Barbara) of Goodyear, AZ; aunt Henrietta Norwood of Wilmington, NC; grandson Jordan Davis of Charlotte, NC; granddaughter Aliyah Smith of Knightdale, NC; dear sister-friends Joyce Moore, Phyllis Ward, Connie Moore, Janice Thompson, and Dorothy Gettys of York, SC: Moses and Elaine Davis of Charlotte, NC; and a host of grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives, and friends.
