Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ repossessed His property, Ivey Marie Henderson Mosley, and set her free on July 16, 2025 surrounded by her loving husband Jerry and her step daughter Theoharis Mosley.
Dede, as she was affectionately called, was born on October 14, 1949, at Good Samaritan Hospital. Dede was the last gift of love to be given to Christopher and Magnolia Henderson. She was the baby girl and our Baby Doll of five children. Dede's parents, Christopher (Buddy) and Magnolia are deceased. Also, her sisters Sarah Ann, Sandra Delores, and her brother Thomas Dellinger are deceased.
Ivey was married to the love her life, Jerry Mosley for forty-eight years.
Dede graduated from West Charlotte Senior High School in 1967. She loved children so she enrolled at CPCC and studied there for two years.
Ivey loved working and her very first job was babysitting her nieces and nephews, Mattie, Reginald, Fayriece, and Jimmy. She was their sitter and their "Protector". She was the Mama Bear and they were Cubs. Several of her jobs required mastering the skill of speed and having a high grade in processing the product. If her job required a maximum of twenty hours, she would double or triple the amount in her performance.
Dede loved to give. During the Christmas holiday, she and Uncle Jerry were Mr. and Mrs. Claus for many of their relatives and friends. They were known for giving great birthday gifts (we will miss her for her giving spirit).
Ivey is survived by her husband Jerry Mosley and her step-daughter Theoharis Mosley (Cedrick). Theoharis is the mother and grandmother of three daughters, Alexandria Mosley, Ciara Mosley, and Emani Mosley; two grandsons, Jamarious Mosley and Xavier Mosley.
Ivey's sister Gloria Henderson Cole is her only surviving sibling.
Ivey was very fortunate to have two lovely siters-in-laws; Mrs. Johnnie Mae Tolliver of Charlotte, and Mrs. Patricia Fetherson (Charles) of Goose Creek, SC. Ivey was the Godmother to her niece, Valerie McCarroll (Chris) and great niece Colee Marie Smith; two great-great nephews, Anthony Ward Smith, III and Asher Morrow Smith.
