Jacqueline Anna Daniels Cross, 90, of Charlotte, NC, departed this life on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at her residence. She was born June 25, 1934, daughter of the late John A. Daniels, Sr. and Helen Daniels Wooten of Parkersburg, West Virginia.
Jacqueline graduated from the historic Sumner High School in Parkersburg, West Virginia, after which she continued her education, majoring in Secretarial Science, at Bluefield State College in Bluefield, West Virginia and Boyd Business College in Cleveland, Ohio, as well as additional study at Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio, and Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC.
She embarked upon a very successful career as an Administrative Secretary in Cleveland for the Urban League of Cleveland, Ohio. Upon relocating to Charlotte in the early 70's, she worked for the City of Charlotte in Community Relations, and then for many more years at Nations Credit Financial Services as the assistant to the Human Resource Office.
Jacqueline was loving and kind and very generous to others. She was an excellent seamstress who shared beautiful handmade garments with friends and loved ones. She was an active member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in the Grier Heights community for many years.
In addition to her parents, Jacqueline was preceded in death by three brothers, John Daniels, Jr., Arthur Daniels, Sr. George Daniels, Sr., and her stepfather, Theodore Wooten.
Left to cherish precious memories are her daughter, Jacqueline Gilliam Belton and son, Christopher Charles Cross, both of Charlotte, NC; grandson, David "Trey" Smith, III; three great-grandchildren, Saliyah Smith, a set of beautiful twins; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
