We celebrate the life of Jacqueline King, who was the last child born to Samuel and Alean Douglas on June 13, 1943, in Charlotte, NC. As a child Jacqueline was sweet and loving. She accepted Christ at an early age and was dedicated to God and her faith. Jacqueline loved her some Jesus! She was an angel sent from heaven.
Jacqueline graduated from West Charlotte High School. She also attended Johnson C. Smith University. She was married to Ruben King, Sr.. They relocated to Brooklyn, NY and created a family with four beautiful children. Jaqueline worked thirty five years at the Board of Education. After retirement, she enjoyed her time at home spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jacqueline was a woman of class. She was very sophisticated and loved fashion, art, and design. She would always greet you with a kind word "Hey Honey or Hey Baby". Jacqueline loved to dress to impress with her sisters. She enjoyed wearing makeup and her favorite red lipsticks! She loved going to exclusive restaurants. Jackie was a fashionista and would say "I look sharp". One of her favorite pastimes was watching karate movies and shopping. Jacqueline spent lots of time talking to her sister Edna Williams. They would chat about their families and the blessings of God. She also adored talking with her two other sisters Annie and Grace as well.
Jacqueline was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister Samuel, Bill, James, and Gracie Harper. Jackie will leave a long legacy as she will always be cherished by her children, Ruben, Jr., Golden, Sterling, and Diamond King, thirteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
