Jalaybrian Kamani Massard, 12, of Charlotte, NC, departed this life on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at his Residence.

Jalaybrian Kamani Massard, lovingly addressed as "J-Man" by his great-uncle or "Big J" by his primary doctor, entered into this world on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, to Djuna P. Black and Courtney Massard.  Jalaybrian lived his short life with Ma & Da, William and Susan Black, with love and care.

Jalaybrian was a student at Ranson Middle School as a 6th grader.  Some of most favorite things were music, being read to, and animated cartoons, most notably, "Bluey" and "Baby Shark."  His all-time favorite children's song was "Baby Shark"

Jalaybrian leaves behind brothers, Jamarcus, Jeremiah, Armani and Calvin Jr.; and sister, Fatima; mother and stepfather, Djuna Black Norwood and Calvin Norwood; grandparents, William and Susan Black; aunts, Natasha Black, Bridget White; uncles, William J. Black III and Steven C. White; great-grandmother, great-uncles, great-aunts, and a host of cousins, and adopted extended family members and family friends.

Jalaybrian is joined in heaven with his brother, Courtney; great-grandparents, and a host of family members preceded.
