James Mark Huntley affectionately known as "Bill" was the son of the late Margaret Little Huntley and Crosson Huntley was born in Chesterfield County, South Carolina on January 12, 1951. He departed this life on June 24, 2022 at the Levine Dickerson Hospice Facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. Bill attended Pageland High School in Pageland, South Carolina, where he graduated with the Class of 1970. After leaving South Carolina, he relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina where he was employed as an Automotive Mechanic for many years. He was employed at the Gulf Service Station, Independence Nissan, AATE, and the City of Charlotte. He retired in 2015. All the while, he was an entrepreneur in his own garage where he served many in his own community. At a young age, he was a baptized member at Cedar Creek Baptist Church, Wadesboro, North Carolina and was later affiliated joining his wife at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Charlotte, North Carolina.
On September 12, 1995, Bill was united in holy matrimony with his soulmate Gloria M. Huntley. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather to four generations. Bill was adored by this family and he was always happier when he was surrounded by them. Bill was always a person we could call upon and he will be remembered for his loving words and encouragement.
He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of thirty-three years, Gloria Huntley of the home, three daughters Teresa Watts, and Da'Navia Huntley (Charlotte, NC), Monica (Lamot) Keenon, Gastonia, North Carolina, his two hardworking sons James (Sidnie) Huntley, Patrick (Mariscia), Livingston, Charlotte, North Carolina. He also leaves to cherish his fond memories his sisters Gennie Covington, Huntersville, NC, Gracie Huntley, Charlotte, NC, Evelyn Lockhart (Ruby, South Carolina), his brothers Edward Huntley, Robert (Catherine), Huntley, Theodore Huntley (Charlotte, NC). He was preceded in death by two sisters Nannie Sinclair (Mt. Croghan, SC) and Mae Fannie Pegues (Charlotte, NC); one brother Thomas Huntley (Chesterfield, SC).
He also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, and two grandpups General and Zoey.
