On February 7, 2024, God called his devoted servant, James Henry Jones, to eternal rest. He was affectionately known as "Bulldog", "Cherry", and "Crawley".

He was born in Laurens County, South Carolina, on June 20, 1944, to loving parents, the late Mr. Edgebert Jones, Sr., and Mrs. Janie Sullivan Jones. James attended Spartanburg County Public Schools and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1964. Mr. Jones was employed at Phillip Fibers Corporation and retired after twenty plus years of service. He was also a licensed barber for forty years and completed each cut with a smile.

Mr. Jones was an active member of The Praise Place Church where he served faithfully as a greeter until his health declined. His favorite scripture was John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." A proud Carolina PAnthers fan, James enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching westerns and stories; specifically, "The Young and the Restless".

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Mr. Marion Jones, Deacon Wallace Jones, and Deacon Edgebert Jones, Jr.; and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Jones Tatge, and Ms. Clymith Earline Jones.

Mr. Jones is survived by his beloved wife, Mrs. Carol L. Jones. He was the proud father of six sons: Mr. Randy Brewton (Daisy) of Richmond, VA, Mr. Jeffrey B. Jones (Dorlissa), Mr. Jermaine A. Jones (Letitia), Mr. Jarvis Jones, Mr. Christopher Brewton (Kimberly), all of Spartanburg, SC, and Mr. Lanier Turner (Monet) of Charlotte, NC; two daughters; Mrs. Andrea Cohen (Orell), and Ms. Shawn Brewton of Charlotte, NC,; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Jones is cherished by three brothers, Mr. Roy Lee Jones (Gloria) of Columbia, SC, Mr. Thomas Jones, and Mr. Donald Jones of Boiling Springs, SC; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Clara Jones of Due West, SC, Mrs. Paulette Jones, Campobello, SC, and Mrs. Doretha Jones of Spartanburg, SC; one aunt, Mrs. Alice Jones (Willie of Moore, SC, and a host of nieces, cousins, and friends.
