Mr. James Randall 'Ron" Sloan Jr., 41 of Charlotte, passed away on Sunday May 5, 2019 at Novant Health- Matthews. He was born in Mecklenburg County on April 25, 1978. Ron was the son of James R. Sloan, Sr. and Deborah (Sloan) Melton. James was lovingly called "Ron" by his family and close friends. Ron was educated in the public schools of Mecklenburg County, NC and attended West Charlotte High School.
Ron was a funny guy with a great sense of humor, he had the ability to make you laugh and put a smile on your face. Ron had a great style when it came to fashion and he loved wearing hats. He was a devoted, loving and caring father to his daughter Heaven with special needs. Just the mention of her name put a smile on his face. He had the ability and patience to attend to all her special needs and love and enjoyed spending quality time with her.
Ron was a skilled Brick Mason, a Truck Driver for Mutual Distributing Company and worked various Construction jobs over the years. He became an experienced Landscaping Technician and advanced quickly on jobs which also lead him to hold several lead Driver Supervisory Positions.
Ron enjoyed listening to music, he was an avid sports fan, he loved just watching football or basketball games with his friends and family. Ron was a dedicated Carolina Panther Fan. He also enjoyed posting on Social Media and he had quite a Media Fan Base.
He had accepted Jesus Chris as Lord of his life.
He was preceded in death by his lovely daughter, Heaven Lee Marie Sloan and both sets of his caring grandparents; the late James and Annie Melton and the late James and Betty Sloan.
In addition to his loving parents, Deborah (Sloan)Melton and James R. Sloan, Sr., he leaves to cherish his memories one daughter, Francis Joi, her mother, Megan Chapman; one beloved and special big brother, Larry D. Melton (Lamicia); one younger brother, Brent Floyd, one sister, Stephanie Hamilton; two special aunts; Linda Melton-Harris and Wanda Jean Sloan, all of Charlotte, NC; two special cousins with whom he shared a brotherly relationship Antwain Melton (Stacy) of Brandywine, MD and Heath Sloan of Charlotte, NC; four aunts, Harriett S. Meader (late Vancer); Carolyn S. Rivens, Winnifred Sloan, and Faye S. Atkinson (Kenneth) all of Charlotte, NC; two uncles: James E. Melton (Constance) and Michael A. Sloan both of Charlotte, NC; Erica Kirkpatrick (late Heaven's mother) of Charlotte, NC; 4 great aunts, Lee Ann White of Charlotte, NC; Bertha Barber, Elizabeth Bright and Jean Caraway of Washington, DC.
