Mr. James Earl Spinks, 69 of Charlotte, passed away on Saturday February 23, 2019 at Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville.  He was born in Edgecombe County, NC on November 22, 1949.  James was affectionately called James Earl.  He never met a stranger and would help anyone in need.  James retired from the Military and went on to work and retire from Winn Dixie.

James was loved by his family and leaves in memory his wife, Doris Williams Spinks; two sons, Dwayne Spinks (Karen) and Deshame Eric Spinks.  He also leaves three grandchildren, Marquez, Landis and Jordan; two great-grandchildren, Maya and Ryan; his sister, Christine and brother, Antonio; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Retha Jordan; sisters-in-law, Alice Faye, Brenda Yvonne, and Betty; brothers-in-law, Ted, Emmanuel, Linwood Jolly, Harold, and Jimmy; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends whom he loved dearly.
