Mr. James Woodard Jr., lovingly known ad "June", was born on November 2, 1928 in Fairfield, South Carolina, to the late James Woodard and Wilhelmina Vanderhorst. He entered into eternal rest on Sunday July 5, 2020 at Atrium Health- Main.
James moved to Charlotte at an early age. He loved working on cars. He built motors for Southland Rebuilding Company; where he retired after many years of service. James was a faithful member of Greater Galilee Baptist Church, where he sang with the Tower Singers. He met and married Flossie Adams.
James is preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife, Flossie Woodard; sons, Willie Woodard, Ernest Woodard and Larry Adams; daughters, Maxine Woodley and Valerie M. Adams; brothers, Moses and Curtis Ford; sister, Geraldine Phillips; and grandson Yama Fluker.
He leaves to cherish his memories, two sons Gerald Woodard and James H. Adams (Francis); four daughters, Hazel Fluker, Ella Robinson, Glenda A. Patterson, all of Charlotte, NC and Gloria Gaines (James) of Albemarle, NC; six siblings, Willie Albert, Jimmy, Joyce, Sylvia, Gwendolyn, and Doris. James was blessed with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren , nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
