Mrs. Janie Ruth Wilson, 89, of Charlotte, NC, departed this life on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Atrium Main.

Ms. Janie Ruth Wilson, 89, of Charlotte, North Carolina, daughter of the late Wesley and Lucia Bell Scott, was born January 31, 1935, in Lancaster, South Carolina.  She departed this life on August 18, 2024, at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.

She graduated from Aracoma High School in Logan, West Virginia in 1953.  After graduating, she gained employment at Logan Central Hospital.  Later, she married Clarence Wilson, relocated to Charlotte, NC and worked at Mercy Hospital as a CNA.

Janie, along with her sisters, was a devoted member of China Grove A.M.E. Zion church.  She served on the choir, Kitchen Committee and was part of the Progressive Women's and Missionary Club.

Janie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, and friend.  Her infectious smile and joyful spirit brightened every room and was always ready to lend a helping hand.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Wilson; son, Ricky Wilson; brothers, Jake and Robert Scott; sisters, Lillian Harris, Willa Cunningham, Marion Knaff, Mildred Jones, Lois Doster; and grandson, Barnett White.

Janie ruth will be greatly missed by her sons, Michael and Kenneth "Chew" Wilson; daughter, Paula Carr; brothers, Wesley Scott (Bert) and James Gordon; sister, Helen Myers (William); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will cherish her memories.

Janie will be missed, however, never forgotten.
