Jason Joel Hernandez, 20, of Charlotte, departed this life on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.

Jason Joel Hernandez Reyes was born in Dallas, Texas on September 28, 2002.  He grew up in Norfolk Virginia.  At the age of 15, he moved to Charlotte to live with his father.

The day we found out that he would come to be part of our lives Mommy, Daddy, Sisters and Brother; we were anxiously waiting for his arrival, counting the days to have him in our arms. He came to fill us with his tenderness and sweetness! To become the baby of the house for such beautiful nobility that he had, he was a happy child who loved to dance, go swimming at the beach, go fishing with dad; he was always so noble, with his pure smile and without evil. Wherever he went he was loved! Our lives are shattered, but our minds and hearts are filled with beautiful memories of him.

Jason, your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure!

Jason is survived by his parents, Gloria Suyapa Canales and Jose Danilo Hernandez Portillo; brother, Jonathan Danilo Hernandez; sisters, Heidi Canales, Daniella Hernandez and Dayani Hernandez; beloved nephews, Joel Hernandez, Michael Mitchem; uncles, aunts and cousins.
