Jean Carol Holmes Fee was born on November 14, 1947, the second of 4 children to the late Marshall L. Holmes and Gertrude S. Holmes in Cleveland Ohio. She transitioned from this life to eternal rest on Monday, September 14, 2020 after a 2 month courageous fight with Covid-19. In addition to her parents, two siblings preceded her in death; Lois Elaine Noah-Grills and Charles Marshall Holmes. Carol has received her great promise for all who believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Carol attended Giddings Elementary, Central Junior High and East Technical High and graduated from John Hay High School in Cleveland Ohio. She also attended Monroe Community College as her dream was to become a mortician.
Carol, as she was known by most, met the love of her life, Richard Wong Fee Jr. at Max S. Hayes High School. They courted for 5 years and were married on April 18, 1966. From that sweet union, 2 daughters were born. Wendy Elaine Fee and Tonya Kwai Fee Tolliver.
Carol enjoyed many occupations in her lifetime. Homemaker, Secretary at Rainbow Babies and Children Hospital, Various Retail jobs,(this helped with her love for shopping), Transport driver and caregiver to many senior citizens. Her hobbies and passion have always been shopping. She would spend hours at various malls and picking out the latest styles, as she loved to style her family. Carol did not allow any type of adversity to dissuade her from doing what she knew she wanted to do.
As a child she was a fierce defender of her brothers and anyone she loved. This carried through to her adult years as well. Carol had a love for travel. Her and Richard spent many years cruising and seeing many places. They were planning a visit to China to see the Great Wall and also return back to Hawaii where she said she would have loved to move. However, her love for her family compelled her to stay on the East Coast so that she could visit her children, grandchildren and great- grand grandchildren. Her love for her family was immeasurable. There wasn't anything that she wouldn't have done for them. She believed in being stern and assertive and for this, she had many fun nicknames. To this day, nieces and nephews will still say... you don't mess with Auntie J A few years ago, her great- granddaughter, Ariah Tionna came to live with her and Richard. This little girl brought so much joy to their household.
