Mr. Jesse Phillip Harris, 65 of Charlotte, passed away at 6:49 a.m., on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Atrium Health-Main, while in the arms of his loving and devoted wife.  He was born on March 25, 1957 in Mecklenburg County.  He was the son of the late Sarah and Curtis Harris.

Jesse was educated in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System and graduated from Olympic High School.  Upon graduation, he enlisted into the United States Marine Corps from which he was honorably discharged.

For many years he worked as a fork lift driver at Jet Blue Airlines.  He retired from this career as his health began to fail.

Jesse loved to work in his yard, to sing, and to watch old classic movies.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Left to cherish fond memories are his wife, Loretta Harris; sons, Michael Phillip Rudisill (DeeDee) and Curtis Nathaniel Harris; stepchildren, Mickie Boyd, Angel Sykes, and Marcus Frazier (Sonya); siblings, Carolyn Bordeaux, Julia Jones, Vernon Harris (Angela), Curtis Harris (Lois) and Rosalind Harris; two aunts, Grace Thomas (Bill) and Nancy "Aunt Lit" Hutchinson; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
