MR. JAMES EARL CROCKETT , 73 of Charlotte, was called to his eternal rest on October 31, 2022 at Novant Health Presbyterian. He was born February 2, 1949, to Malachi and Maggie Anne in Marvin, North Carolina. He was the fifth of ten children in this union.
Jessie was a proud graduate of Western Union Senior High School in 1967. He was a brick washer by trade and owned his own company, Crockett Brick Cleaning, for many years.
Jessie became a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of the late Rev. Jones. He was a faithful member of Heavenly Bounds Singers and countless other auxiliaries. He was a devoted and dedicated member of the Deacon's Ministry at the time of his passing.
On June 5, 1976, he married Jo-Anne Battle, who preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Willie Joe Crockett, Sr. (Dorothy), James Robert Franklin Crockett (Addie Mae), Clarence Edward Crockett, Sr., and Michael Ray Crockett.
Left to cherish his memories are a son, Tywon Deon Crockett, and two daughters, RaShunna Crockett Ferguson and KiAra Sherece Crockett, all of Charlotte, NC. Brothers, Alvin Crockett (Alice), Lawrence Dennis Crockett (Mary), Mitchell Crockett, Arthur 'Sid' Walker (Willette) Sisters, Ethel 'Betty' Massey (Melvin), Gloria Crockett-McPhail (Marvin), Bonita 'Evette' Walker. Sister-in-Law, Johnnie Faye Crockett. Grandchildren, Jessie J. Crockett, Jordan J. Crockett, Keissten T. Crockett, Reignn' S. Ahemn, Mason A. Crockett, Natalie A. Crockett, Greysen A. Crockett, Nathan A. Crockett. And a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, and extended family.
