Mrs. Joan E. Sanders, 89, formerly of Bronx, NY, departed this life on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Accordius Concord.

We are here to celebrate the life of Mrs. Joan Cynthia Sanders.  She was 89 years old.  She was born in The Bronx, New York City on December 18, 1933 to Mr. Samuel Middleton and Mrs. Canille Middleton.  Mrs. Joan left this life on Sunday, June 4, 2023 where she passed away peacefully in her sleep.

Mrs. Joan was a beloved wife and mother, a very sweet person inside and out.  She loved clothes and shoes.  She loved fashion and she was always glamorous.

Some of her hobbies were reading, playing Bridge with friends and spending time on her computer.  She also loved spending time with her family.

Mrs. Joan worked in medical billing and coding at the Long Island Medical Center in New Hyde Park, NY for many years until retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Willie Lee Sanders; her father, Mr. Samuel Middleton; her mother, Mrs. Canille Middleton; and her sister, Thomasena Hemans.

Mrs. Joan is survived by her son, Gordon Sanders and his wife, Eshia; her brother, Russell Middleton and his wife, Debra; her brother-in-law, Percy Hemans; and a host of nieces and nephews.
