It is a good time to Reflect on a lifetime of memories Joe left behind.  Joe was born on November 14, 1953, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to the late James Reid and Beatrice Boyd.  He was called by his Heavenly Father on Thursday, March 24, 2022.

Joe attended  Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools before starting work at Presbyterian Hospital in the laundry department.  He was later promoted to becoming a surgical tech and worked there until he retired.

Joe was a hard worker.  He worked over 30 years, not missing a single day.  He was also known as "Poppi Joe" by many.  Joe was a kind soul who never had a frown on his face.  He found joy in everything he did.  He found great joy in being a caretaker to Brian Young.  He and his wife took him in and raised him as a son.  Joe was a proud member of Saint Mark Baptist Church for many years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of over 40 years, Patricia L. Reid.  He leaves to cherish his memory sons, Andre Caple (Tasia) and Kenny Wilson; daughter, Courtney Lavigne (Alex); brothers, Leroy Reid (Joyce), Donnie Reid; sisters, Rosetta Broom (Robert), Barbara Walker, Sheryl Teasley (Tim) and Diane Smith; brothers-in-law, Russell Lavigne (Charlene) and Wallace Lavigne; ten grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
