Mr. Joe Louis Singleton was born in Beaufort, South Carolina to the late Sadie Mack and Levi Singleton on October 1, 1935. He slipped into the arms of Jesus on October 9, 2023.

Joe was a hard worker. He loved to build, paint and help his wife in the yard. He loved the Lord, and especially his wife.

Joe Singleton worked for Duke Power; retiring at 30 years. He also worked many years at Ciba-Geigy. He painted houses part-time and built anything he put his mind to.

He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church where he was on security. a Deacon, and sung on the Hymn Choir.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Sadie Mack and Levi Singleton; 9 siblings, four brothers and five sisters; along with his wife of 65 years, Bessie Singleton. (He was such a gentleman, he allowed her to go first.)

Joe is survived by his children, one son, Joe Jones; two daughters, Patrice Pegues and La-Quanda Singleton; grands and great grands; one godson, Joseph Bennett; one son-in-love, Lamont Davis Sr.
