John Thomas Caldwell was born in Mecklenburg County on March 23, 1954 to Jimmy and Mildred Ardrey Campbell. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Juanita Campbell and Kathy Campbell Martin.

John departed this life on June 1, 2023 at Novant Presbyterian Hospital. He was a resident at White Oak Manor Charlotte for 25 years. He loved sitting in front of his room greeting everyone as they walked by. John was a friendly person.

He loved God very dearly and he loved his family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memories his sister, Linda C. Dozier; brothers, James Campbell, Cecil Campbell, Billy Campbell of Charlotte, NC and Benny Campbell of Cary, NC; two brothers-in-law, Cletis Dozier and Roy Martin of Charlotte, NC; two sisters-in-law, Doris Campbell of Charlotte, NC and Ingrid Campbell of Cary, NC; two aunts, Helen Robinson and Ola Ardrey; one uncle, Brice Ardrey; several nieces and nephews; many cousins and friends.
