Mr. John Henderson Jr., 72 of Charlotte, passed away on Wednesday September 23, 2020 at Olde Knox Commons.

John "Cheetah" Henderson, Jr was born on May 22, 1948, in Huntersville, NC Mecklenburg County, to Martha Atwell Henderson and John Henderson.

John attended Mecklenburg County Schools. After many years of driving dump trucks, John retired in 2017, he was self-employed and owner of Henderson Trucking, as a driver and heavy equipment operator. John was a faithful member of Mt Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Huntersville NC, until his health declined. He was a member the Men's chorus, for many years. John also sang with The Gospel Vocal Aires for many years. He has a passion for singing gospel music with his family and friends. In his free time John would play his bass guitar "Black Beauty" one of his many ways to show his love for music.

John was proceeded in death by his mother, Martha Atwell Henderson; father, John Henderson; his loving wife, Marie Davis Henderson; three sisters, Carey, Geraldine and Maggie; a host of aunts and uncles of whom he truly adored.

John leaves to cherish his memories, one brother Alfonzo Henderson, Sr; sister in love Elnora Henderson; two uncles, Roosevelt Henderson (Katherine); Sandy Henderson (Betty); two special daughters, Shakira Leach and Sabrina Rose; three grandchildren, Jai'Darius, Brandon and Kayla; two great grands, Anthony and Autyum; ,three nieces, Tammie, Sherry and Torina; six nephews, George, Johnny Ray, Anthony, Christopher, Vancer and Alfonzo, Jr; and a host of cousins and fr
