Mr. John Houston, Jr., 94, of Charlotte, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. He was born April 26, 1927 in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late John and Annie Houston.

He was educated in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System, Carver College, and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Mr. Houston served in the United States Army and retired as a supervisor from Federal Reserve Bank.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Houston; son, John Houston, III; daughter, Sylvia Ann Houston; and sister, Alice Houston Marshall.

Mr. Houston was a faithful member of East Stonewall AME Zion Church until his health failed.

He leaves to cherish memories; his daughter, Carolyn Houston Nichols; son, Woodrow Clifton, both of Charlotte, NC; one granddaughter, Joy Houston Green of Philadelphia, PA; one grandson Woodrow Clifton, Jr. of Oviedo, FL; six great grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
