Mr. Johnnie M.  Patton Sr., 72 lovingly called "Sonny Boy" and "John Boy,"of Charlotte, passed away unexpectedly at CMC-Main on Thursday February 7, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born to the late John H. Patton and Caluverta S. Patton on May 9, 1946 in Mecklenburg Co.

Johnnie was preceded in death by his lov ing wife of 55 years, Hattie M. Patton.  He was also preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

Johnnie was employed by Charlotte Transit as a bus driver and held many other driving positions.  He also worked many other jobs in Mecklenburg County.  He had many gifted talents.  He loved playing his guitar (by ear), gardening, entertaining, fixing cars and appliances, anything and everything!  He never met a stranger.  Johnnie loved everybody and most of all, he loved God!

Left to cherish loving memories are two daughters, Katanya R. Patton and Veronica P. Beaupin (Wolner), both of Charlotte; two sons, Johnnie M. Patton, Jr. of Charlotte and Mark A. Patton (Martha) of California; two sisters, Ella Barrett, Geraldine Patton and one brother, Willie White (Cora), all of Charlotte; seven grandchildren, Jamario Johnson (Johnny's best friend, caregiver and "Right Hand Man"), Darren Patton, Martiniquia Patton, Mark Patton, Jr., Mariam Beaupin, Mily Patton and Emily Patton; four great-grandchildren; and many cherished nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
