Mr. Johnny James Taylor, 86 of Charlotte, was called home to be with the Lord, on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Novant Health Presbyterian-Main. He was born on September 1, 1933 in Wadesboro, NC, Anson County to the late Clarence Taylor and Viola Broome. He was one of seven children.
He graduated from West Charlotte High School and was employed with the City of Charlotte for many years. Johnny was a wonderful and devoted father and a very special individual to whoever knew him. He was loved by whoever came in contact with him. He always went by "Nap" and was known for saying the words "Bust the gate", and his outspoken spirit, kind heart and his smile. He loved entertaining people and enjoyed good music and family gatherings.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Evelyn Taylor; son, Samuel Lattimore; grandson, Antoine Taylor; brother, Clarence Taylor, Bobby Taylor, Ruth Mae Martin, Gwendolyn Boyce, Faye Taylor.
He is survived by his children, Mary Williamson, Diane Wilson, Johnnie Mae Lattimore, Vermell Taylor, Johnny James Jr., Jeffery Taylor (Angeling Taylor), Angela Love, Susan Johnston, Teresa Taylor, Michelle Taylor, and Lisa Andrews; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Moffett; two brothers-in-law, Clarence Boyce and Virgil Lattimore (Laura); and two special young ladies that he loved dearly, Tarsha Graham and Tokie Boyd; along with other family and friends.
Loved by many, Mr. Johnny Taylor will be sorely missed by all of his family and friends.
