Mr. Jonas Campbell, 72 of Charlotte, passed away on Wednesday November 4, 2020 at Levine & Dickson-Aldersgate. Jonas was born on September 2, 1948 to the late Dorothy Campbell and Jonas Williams.

Jonas was raised on the Southside of Charlotte, NC.  Growing up he attended Marie G. Davis International.  He graduated from York Road High School in Charlotte, in 1966.  After high school, he received an Associate Degree in Human Services at Central Piedmont Community College.  He then continued his education at Pfeiffer College where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work.  He started his career at Charlotte Mecklenburg where he served 31 years as an Assistant Teacher and Social Worker until his retirement.  Jonas grew up knowing God but became saved later in life.  In his spare-time he enjoyed music, football, golf and interacting with people at flea markets.  Jonas was a man of substance.  He always said what he meant and meant what he said.  He was a no nonsense man full of character.  He was also known as a caring, giving, ambitious, outspoken and hardworking man, father, and friend.

Jonas was preceded in death by his parents, Jonas Williams and Dorothy Campbell; brother, Ricky Campbell; and sister, Shelia Campbell.

He leaves to cherish fond memories his children, Eureka Campbell Cole (Kenneth) of Arlington, Virginia, Bryan Pauling (Cheryce), Jonas L. Campbell, Sr. (Vonyeda), both of Charlotte; six grandchildren, Mariztava Campbell of Arlington, Virginia, Jr., Jonas L. Campbell Jr., Bryce Pauling, Blake Pauling, Ashanti Pauling and Lania Pauling, all of Charlotte; siblings, Johnny Campbell (Mary) of Charlotte, Pearline Pegram of Massachusetts, John Williams of Massachusetts, Betty Green (John) of Atlanta, GA, Shirley Campbell, Dizena Henderson (Rick), Doris Cosby (Henry), all of Charlotte; a special friend and partner, Alice Martin; and a host of other family and friends.
