Obituary
Mr. Joseph Kendrick Whitmire, known to all as "Bo" love for life didn't come to an end with his death. Bo passed away on April 14, 2021, surrounded by his love ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. He was the youngest son of the late
Bernice Whitmire.
Bo attended Independence High School where he was an outstanding basketball player and where he met his loving wife, Tammy, in the 10th grade. Together, they had three children: Kendra, Joseph Jr., and Ebony. Bo was a loving husband and father. His cheerful attitude and bright smile
will be missed by all who knew him.
Bo coached Girls AAU Basketball for 15 years, where his loving heart, love of "junk talking, calling everyone "scrubs" and gentle spirit touched the lives of so many girls and boys throughout his life.
Bo leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 30 years, Tammy; one son, Joseph Whitmire Jr.; two daughters, Kendra Whitmire and Ebony Whitmire; four grandchildren, Danny Lee III, Brooke, Brielle, and Londyn; two brothers, Kenneth Whitmire (Walissa) of Greensboro, NC and Keith Whitmire of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Tammy Whitmire of Charlotte, NC. Bo also leaves sisters in love, Robbie Kirkpatrick Nichols (Michael), Juanita Wallace, Rosemarie Saleem, and a host of many adoring nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, and other family and friends.
One sister, Veronica Whitmire, his grandmother, Willie Mae Guest, and two nephews, Tydondi Whitmire and Antwan Whitmire preceded him in death.
