Mr. Kelvin DeWayne McDougal was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 20, 1960, to the late Mitchell McDougal and Caletha Leak.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Vernon McDougal. Kelvin leaves to celebrate his life and morn his death his sister, Joyce Ann McDougal; brother, Darien McDougal; several nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Kelvin attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and graduated from Independence High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. He attended Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York and relocated back to Charlotte, North Carolina in 1988 to work for Bank of America. He ended his career from the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System in February 2023.

Kelvin was known for being very creative, a lover of life, and a person with a great sense of humor. He loved traveling with family and friends. He was quite fashionable and known for the expression "Good Lord" to let you and others know something did not sit right with him.

He enjoyed collecting art, learning about black art and history and he loved cooking.

Kelvin loved his family and friends. He had a gift for ensuring that he stayed connected across the country to all he grew to know and love (near and far).

On Sunday, June 4, 2023 Kelvin left this earth to take his rest. Kelvin fought hard and walked in faith of his healing as a champion who could beat the diseases that impacted his body. He served as a testimony for others of the power and believing and walking with a positive mindset to survive and thrive through his illnesses.
