Kevin Alexander
Crockett
February 16, 2026
Kevin Alexander Crockett, 72, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Clear Creek Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Charlotte, NC.
Kevin A. Crockett Sr. was born on June 30, 1953, at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. He was the beloved son of William and Victoria Crockett, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Yvonne Gravenhise and nephew, Mark Gravenhise.
Kevin gave his life to Christ at an early age while attending The Church of the Living God United in Brooklyn, NY. While living in Brooklyn, NY he attended PS003.
In 1967, his parents relocated to New Jersey, where he attended Linden High School. During his high school years, Kevin developed a love for basketball, skating, and bowling. He was especially passionate about professional basketball, and the New York Knicks was his favorite team.
Kevin was an exceptional bowler. In fact, he achieved the highest honor in bowling a perfect game. His perfect game ring was one of his most treasured possessions.
Anyone who knew Kevin knew he had a flair for fashion. He loved dressing in the finest clothing. Of course, the shoes must coordinate.
In his adult years, Kevin worked for many years at Apex Plating & Polishing Company in Linden, New Jersey. Afterward, he held various positions before eventually relocating to Charlotte, North Carolina.
While living in Charlotte, Kevin was diagnosed with COPD. Despite his illness, nothing stopped him from watching his grandson play basketball. He was especially proud to see him commit to college and spoke of that accomplishment often to the nurses who cared for him. While battling COPD, he had OCD. There was a place for everything, and everything had its place. And, the nurses will say the same. On February 16, 2026, Kevin peacefully succumbed to the disease, surrounded by his son and niece.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Kevin Crockett Jr. (Lestina), Cierra Crockett, and Cheyenne Crockett. He is also survived by his sister, Marie Wallace of Charlotte, NC; his niece, Dana Stallings (Derrek); nephew, Michael Gravenhise; niece, Tiffany Martin; his beloved grandchildren, Jeff, Logan, Tanasia , Jules, and Kevin Crockett III; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
