Mr. Larry Doby Lyles, 73, of Charlotte, NC, departed this life on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster.

Larry Doby Lyles, affectionately called "Dob," was born to the late David Lyles, Sr. and Mary B. Lyles.  He attended school in the Mecklenburg County School System.  It was his desire to make those around him happy no matter what was going on around them.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Georgeanna, Carol and Daisy.

Carrying on his legacy are his children: son, Larry Eugene Lyles (Monique), and daughter, Nikki Lyles Simmons (Marcus); grandchildren, grandson, Larry (L.J.) Lyles (Erikah) and granddaughter, Corrine Simmons.

Dob's great-grandchildren are Island Lyles, Storm Lyles and Alakay Lyles.  Cherishing sibling memories are his brothers, David (Vernell) and Geofrey (Pearl) and his sister, Deborah.  Remembering those special times with Uncle Larry are his nieces and nephews.  He will be truly missed by a forever friend, his previous wife, Sandra M. Lyles Carrothers, and a host of other relatives and friends.
