Laura Ann Weathers Davis, 79 was granted her angel wings on September 4, 2019, with her family by her side in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Laura Weathers was born on May 8, 1940, to the late Alexander and Dorothy Weathers in Charlotte, NC.  Her father was an entrepreneur and worked for an oil company.  Her mother was a caterer and homemaker.  She was educated in the Mecklenburg County School System where she graduated from Second Ward in 1958.

In 1959, Laura met and married James Ivroy Davis at the youthful age of 19; to this union they were blessed with three beautiful children.  Mrs. Davis career followed her mother's as she was a caterer while her husband was a Charlotte City Transit Bus Driver.

Her interest included family, gardening, sewing and crossword puzzles.  She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to her family members, including her mother until she passed away at age 79.  Laura and James lovingly spent summers gardening and fishing.

Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her sister; Mamie Pettis.  She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, Mr. James Davis Sr. of the home, two sons: Vernon Wayne (Valarie), Jams Jr. (Maggie), one daughter, Coleene Yvette Davis all of Charlotte, North Carolina, two brothers; John (Jill) Weathers of Peoria, Arizona and John Weathers of Lancaster, South Carolina, five sisters; Mamie Pettis, Mary Helen Tate (Ben), Doris Abel, Frances Roseboro, Carolyn Harris, Towanna Jones; 16 grandchildren-whom she helped raise and 15 great-grandchildren along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
